Daybook entry Feb 10

This has been a crazy week so far. I haven't been near my computer much, so it's a good thing I had a bunch of book reviews scheduled for posting, otherwise my blog would have seemed deserted. Today I thought I'd do a Simple Woman's daybook entry, which is something I haven't done in a while. Why don't you join in?

FOR TODAY - Feb 10

Outside my window... it is cold. It looks beautiful and sunny, but it's misleading.

I am thinking... that this has been a crazy week. We've been looking at apartments. The sale of my work closed this week. Everything seems hectic.

I am thankful for... not having any migraines for almost a month!

From the kitchen... my healthy lunch of salad and chocolate milk will soon be coming. They are chilling in the fridge waiting for me.

I am wearing... grey dress pants, black t-shirt and a fancy purple flower overshirt. Hard to describe, but I think it's snazzy.

I am creating... some lists of activities to do with my son at home.

I am going... to be niece's birthday party tomorrow evening. Should be lots of fun. I can't believe she's going to be six already!

I am reading... oh, I never did Whatcha Reading Wed this week. I am still reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I am also reading Before Cain Strikes, and I'm listening to Pandora's Daughter.

I am hoping... we get an apartment this week.

I am hearing... the usual office sounds.

Around the house... I'm sure there is lots of playing. Or maybe sleeping, since my son didn't do much of that last night.

One of my favorite things... is sleeping in. It's been a while since I did that though.

A few plans for the rest of the week: birthday party tomorrow, hopefully arrange for a new apartment.

Daybook entry Dec 14

Outside my window... I am not sure what it's like. I'm not near a window this morning since I am covering the reception desk. But everyone coming in says it is super cold out.

I am thinking... that my eye hurts really bad. I have been having trouble with my left eye for a few months now. I need to go to the optometrist, but can't really afford it. I know something is different. My contacts don't sit properly, they go foggy and filmy, and I feel a lot of pressure at times. Very uncomfortable. Even when wearing my glasses doesn't always help. I just need to find the time and funds to get it handled.

I am thankful for... having access to medical assistance when and if I need it.
I am wearing... purple pants with white pinstripes, a black and white knitted sweater, and my sneakers. Again with the sneakers.

I am creating... nothing?
I am going... to have lunch shortly. I am starving this morning.

I am reading... the 3rd "in Death" book. That's right, I've already read the first two. Need to get my reviews typed and posted. Love these books!

I am hoping... there is nothing seriously wrong with my eye. Worried there might be, which is probably partially why I haven't had it looked at yet.

I am hearing... people on the phone. Busy office sounds.

One of my favorite things... is my son's Christmas pictures. I don't have any I can post since I left my phone at home (again), but it is cute.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Need to book an oil change for my car. Get some schoolwork done. Nothing very exciting.

Daybook entry Dec 7

Outside my window... it is lightly snowing. Chilly but nice. Except for the last bit of walking up to the building because the wind coming down off the building is crazy strong and cold.

I am thinking... that I would love a creamy milk-based hot chocolate. But I will restrain myself and make due with my raspberry tea water.

I am thankful for... working inside a warm building. I pity anyone working outside in the wind.

I am wearing... black dress pants and a simple white t-shirt. With black running shoes. I really need to buy a new pair of flat black dress shoes.

I am creating... a new blog look, which I think I am done. And loving it.

I am going... to refill my drink shortly. I am doing great at staying hydrated with this cold.

I am reading... something which I will share tomorrow.

I am hoping... dinner is ready when I get home. I love when that happens. And that my son sleeps tonight. He had a rough night last night, waking every 2-3 hours. I have gotten spoiled the last month or two with him only waking once or twice during the night. Neither of us wants to go back to not sleeping. Hopefully his cold passes quickly.

I am hearing... a lot of people sniffling and blowing their noses around the office. Seems like I'm not the only sick one.

One of my favorite things... is savouring a delicious chocolate bar. I am a fan of Aero and Caramilk especially. I am definitely craving chocolate right now. But I have none, and I don't think that licorice is going to fix the craving.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I have the afternoon off tomorrow for a tenant boarding hearing about a potential rent increase. I'm not sure I want to go though. We'll see. This is my busy week at work, with our month end deadline Monday.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing... not posting one specifically. The picture I want to share is my new blog look.

Daybook entry Nov 25

FOR TODAY - Thursday Nov 25, 2010

Outside my window... it is grey and dreary. It was freezing rain this morning, but I think it's back to normal rain. Not pleasant though.

I am thinking... that I have an exam next week, and I am woefully under-prepared.

I am thankful for... being able to take the day off when my son has doctor appointments. Yes, they count as vacation days, but I still get them.

From the kitchen... I hear the printer and ladies walking in hight heels.

I am wearing... long grey sweater, black tights and awesome black boots with buckles. And my glasses cause my left eye seems to have changed shape a bit so my contacts no longer sit comfortably.
I am creating... little coordinated piles out of my licorice candy. Sorting them by type, then eating one out of each pile. Obviously, I am extremely busy.

I am going... to crack down and do some studying this weekend. I need to pass my exam because I don't want to have to redo it, and pay for it.

I am reading... City of Ice by John Farrow. Borrowed from my sister a while ago, and only just getting to it now.

I am hoping... to be able to get some sleep this weekend so I stop feeling like a zombie.

I am hearing... the usual sounds of work.

Around the house... there is probably chaos. I will see when I get home.

One of my favorite things... is hot chocolate. There is a coffee shop next door that makes it with steamed milk instead of water. So yummy. But I find it hard to justify spending $3 on a cup when there are free packets of hot chocolate mix in the kitchen.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Magoo has a doctor appointment tomorrow. I have a potluck to go to on Saturday, and we are going as a family to an outdoor Nativity tour thingy Saturday evening. Sunday I have a cards and board games social which should be lots of fun.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Daybook entry Nov 18

FOR TODAY - Nov 18
Outside my window... is the same view as last time since I'm at work. But now the weather is grey, wind and cold.

I am thinking... that I wish I had some chocolate. One of my co-workers has a box of Hallowe'en chocolate in his office, and keeps putting out little amounts. He seems to think he needs to ration it for us. He's probably right.

I am thankful for... owing warm winter clothing, even if I can't remember to bring it. I can afford it, and don't have to spend the winter freezing.

From the kitchen... there is an electrician working on our lights.

I am wearing... dark blue velvet-y pants, blue tank top, blue t-shirt and a white sweater. Apparently it's a blue day. And yes, I find it cold enough to need 3 shirts. Our air/heating situation at work is having issues. One hour it is sweating hot, the next is jacket cold.

I am creating... some of my monthly reports. Nothing very exciting, but it needs to be done every month.

I am going... to the bank in about an hour. And I am wishing I had remembered to find my mittens. It is that cold out that my 2 block walk to the bank needs mittens.

I am reading... Stuff: Compulsive Hoarding and the Meaning of Things by Randy O. Frost

I am hoping... that the repairs my car needs will not be too expensive. I am taking it to my mechanic tomorrow to have a clunking noise in the front corner checked out.

I am hearing... lots of banging from the electrician.

One of my favorite things... is being snuggled in bed under the covers. Waking up, hearing silence, and getting to stay in bed for a few minutes is always awesome. I can't wait until my son is (hopefully) willing to join me for a few minutes instead of demanding I get up right away and get him food. He has gotten to the point where he gets out of bed and comes to get me instead of just sitting in bed screaming until I come to him.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
- taking my car in for repairs tomorrow
- dinner at my sister's tomorrow evening. My mom is down visiting, so it should be fun
- Saturday I am taking my son to the mall for a storytime reading for Playhouse Disney's Travelling Birthday Bonanza.
- Sunday I am going to a jewellry and fashion show with my women's social group. I probably wouldn't buy anything, but I always have fun with the ladies.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Not my bed, but it still looks comfy

Daybook entry Nov 12

FOR TODAY - Nov 12 - Half way through the month already!!

Outside my window... is a parking lot (I'm at work). The sun is shining, and it's beautiful out.

I am thinking... about my family Christmas tomorrow. And looking forward to the end of the day, the start of the weekend.

I am thankful for... the good health of my son. Relatively, since he wasn't able to get his immunizations today because he has an ear infection. But that is minor compared to some children's ailments.

From the kitchen... there is nothing going on there.

I am wearing... blue jeans and a purple t-shirt. Gotta love casual Fridays!

I am creating... a woven newspaper tote bag on my lunch hours. Will post pictures when I am done. Should only take another day or two.

I am going... to my family Christmas tomorrow. It seems so early!

I am reading... Stuff: Compulsive Hoarding and the Meaning of Things by Randy O. Frost

I am hoping... to have fun tomorrow.

I am hearing... people on their phones. And the photocopier.

Around the house... are lots and lots of toys.

One of my favorite things... is relaxing with a good book.

A few plans for the rest of the week: already listed above. Family Christmas. Sunday my son has a playdate. I have to do schoolwork at some point.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing... no picture. I can't seem to get the link to grab HTML code on Flikr to work. And I don't want to "steal" someone's picture. So no pic.
